Responding to the City of Atlanta Fire Department’s early Sunday morning request for mutual aid, the Forsyth County Fire Department assisted in fighting a four-alarm blaze at Midtown’s Atlantic Station.
Forsyth County Fire Department's Truck Company 14, with a full staffing of five personnel, responded to the City of Atlanta's call for mutual aid. The company performed fill-in duties at AFD Station 29, answering several alarms, followed by extensive suppression operations at the Atlantic Station scene.
All personnel and apparatus operated dutifully and performed all roles assigned by the AFD on-scene commander. At the conclusion of their work in Atlanta, all of the Forsyth County firefighters returned to Forsyth safely and completed their 24-hour tour of duty.
Other fire departments responding to the incident included Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties. No injuries were reported from the fire, which destroyed a condominium complex under construction.
