Last week, Jack Murphy, Republican GA State House Representative from Forsyth County, announced his intention to run for State Senate.
This afternoon, the Cherokee and Forsyth County Democratic Parties issued the following statement regarding Jack Murphy's intention to run for State Senate and the vacancy created in House District 23.

Forsyth and Cherokee County Democrats are working together to field candidates for all open seat races in 06.
Since assuming the controls of state government, Georgian voters have seen the results of the Republican Party's dysfunctional leadership.
The Republicans have done more damage to Georgia in 2 years, than the Democratic Party did in 135.
"Representative Murphy's anti-constituent record is part of the problem. He has not earned a promotion, and we look forward to seeing Democrats run for his open seat." said Jon Flack, Chair of the Forsyth Democratic Party.
As chairmen of our local parties, we are working together to field candidates for all open races. Voters deserve a real choice next election season.
